A while back David and I made beignets. Greasy, Crumbly, Sugar-Topped Beignets.
To do our beignets right we whipped up a hot pot of coffee and frothed milk for the traditional cafe au lait (sans chickory) – the proper way to drink coffee on this occasion. Of course, the beignets weren't anywhere near as good as Cajun Kitchen's (David's favorite breakfast spot), but still, they were pretty dang tasty. We ate way too many and went into a food coma not too long after, but we'd do it again in a heartbeat. (Shout out to Daddo Rans who bought us the Cafe Du Monde box mix!)
