"To see the world, things dangerous to come, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel."
Yep, you guessed it, we’ve been watching the new rendition of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty again (quite often actually…).
As silly and unbelievable that it might be, it’s a great movie with amazing scenery, an exceptional soundtrack, and a pretty awesome take away.
By “take away” I mean, that as the movie came to a close and the credits began to roll, I felt a sense of greater knowledge within me. I felt inspired to do more, see more, and dream more!
I know what you’re thinking, “what a cheeseball!” I’m serious though. This silly movie gave me a greater outlook on life (no pun intended) and how to get past those every day, dreary thoughts about when you’ll be able to adventure, if you’ll be in the same town for the next 5 years, and whether you’ll ever get to see those incredible Egyptian pyramids.
It may take a hundred small steps – maybe a thousand – to reach that big dream, but I believe, that we’ll get there if we try.
We’ll get there if we keep dreaming.
Now it has come to my attention that this word “dream” has lost its flavor.
How do I know this – well because, for myself, and many more, it truly has lost a tremendous amount of worth.
Dreams have begun to feel like mere silly fantasies; a treasure that begins and ends in our childhood. They are but hopeful visions of becoming the president of the United Sates, reaching outrageous musical fame, and wonders of that sort.Dreaming has turned into the unreachable; a waste of time that should be dismissed from your mind once you’ve grown.
What I’ve failed to remember is the colossal importance of dreams.
Some haven’t lost hope; dreams are still believed to render possibilities, to end in achievement; dreams are still encouraged.
We will be lucky if we follow in the steps of those who endow dreaming of this sort.
(I warn you though, not to fill your dreams with emptiness; with wanting more stuff, more money, more popularity. NO! Fill them with much more than that.)
You can have anything, go anywhere, and reach great heights.
What will it be?
I dream to write everyday.
I dream to own an adventure mobile.
I dream to pray powerful prayers.
I dream to live in Alaska.
I dream to be a mom.
I dream to speak with a sense of grace and ease.
I dream to wonder up at the skies in Montana.
I dream to live a simple and beautiful life.
I dream to light up the faces of everyone I’m around.
I dream to road trip all across America.
I dream to lay hands and pray on many people.
I dream to have my writing go somewhere.
Make MUCH of your dreams!
So I conclude that…
I will dream. I will dream BIG. I will dream much.
Happy Dreaming!
