There have been an innumerable amount of thoughts swimming through my head these days concerning this blog.
My feelings. My hopes. My dreams. My desires. My fears. My worries. My cares.
Who even cares about this blog? My hand shoots up in the air...
"I do! I do!"
Words and pictures have been hammering at my soul lately. That expression appears brutal, trust me, it's much more enjoyable than it sounds. Stretching me. Broadening the horizon of my mind. Taking me places I would have never ventured.
I read and see and light bulbs go on, maybe even more like, fireworks take flight.
I've been caught up into a whirlwind of colors, flavors, scents – a special kind of pretty, made unique for me.
Writing this blog has allowed me to look inward in the most beautiful way, helping me discover all the things I didn't know about myself.
I have become a curator (which nowadays means "to have a discerning eye and great taste" – read more on that here) of all things me.
This blog commemorates growth; it challenges me to go beyond the confines of my ever-wandering mind.
It's the most easy and yet most difficult journey. It's life. A wonderful, curious, path of what if's and heck yeah's!
I asked my husband the other day in what ways I could grow in being a better traveling companion.
His answer was:
"ENJOY THE JOURNEY JUST AS MUCH AS THE DESTINATION."
There's a word that hits deep, hammering strength into the wobbly structures of our life foundations –ENJOY.
Enjoy this life. The now. The time that slips away without our noticing.
Enjoy the home you live in – even if you're desperate to get out of that 400 sq ft studio.
Enjoy the food you're cooking – even if it's the same four recipes every week.
Enjoy the people in you're life – even if your best friend is hundreds of miles away and the phone is your only way of contact.
So that's what I will do. Enjoy this blog for all it's worth, even if it's not quite meeting my (way too ridiculously high) standards of quality and success.
Oh the value of persevering through the discomfort of achy growth spurts.
Life is much better lived when you learn to enjoy.
I am looking forward to years down the road, when I glance back on earlier posts, with their terrible photos and cheesy words, and am able to breathe deep the satisfaction and joy of what I have grown into.
